I finally found a clip (via Robyn) of Stewart mentioning Union. Yes… I am still excited about it. You would be excited too if every time you mentioned your undergraduate experience people squinted their eyes and looked up and too the right.

I was watching The Daily Show last night (maybe my favorite show) and Jon Stewart mentioned my alma mater, Union College! The reference came as Jon’s guest, Phillip Zimbardo of Stanford, walked onto the set. John and Phil began the interview:

Phil: As my students say, ‘It’s [The Daily Show] totally awesome man’.

Jon: Students at Stanford talk that way?

Phil: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Jon: I could see like… Union College, but Stanford?

So, while I was very excited that my school was mentioned… It obviously wasn’t cast in a great light. Of all the schools of higher education in the English-speaking world, Jon chose Union College? Why?! It’s obscure! It’s great…but no one has ever heard of it….it’s just a tiny liberal arts college in the middle of one of most depressed cities in upstate New York: Schenectady.

Oh well… I’ll just be grateful I guess. GO U!!

*UPDATE:* I found a clip of the scene on Youtube…but before I could even post it, the clip was taken down because Viacom doesn’t want clips of its shows available for free.  This is a whole other issue.  WHY don’t they want to show clips of their shows for free?  It can only benefit them.  Grrrrr…..
