Rudy’s Cafe in Teele Square, Somerville, has been operating for how many years?
PS. If you enjoy margaritas and/or tequila, you should go to Rudy’s. It’s really really good.
Pub Crawl for Freedom! June 27, 2007

When I was younger, it was always my dream to drink the Freedom Trail. Everyone walks it… but few have the patriotic courage to drink it. This year I took advantage of Google Maps to lay out the plan and dust it with history. This is the official Freedom Trail Pub Crawl Map.
Pub Crawl for Freedom, originally uploaded by Popehammer.
This pub crawl follows (as closely as possible) the 2.5 mile Freedom Trail in Boston. Every year I, along with a small group of friends, walk along the Freedom Trail in Boston stopping at a pub near each historical site. We reflect on the blood shed by our forefathers (and mothers) that allows us Americans to get completely tanked in broad daylight on a summer day. We remember the courage it took to ensure that we would not speak with English accents but instead, speak with accents of other, cooler, regions of the world. We are reminded particularly of the Constitutional right to pee on buildings when the line for the bathroom is too long. At least…I think that’s in the Constitution..I’ll have to check.
Ridiculous and outrageously patriotic outfits are encouraged.
Cinco de Mayo… How are you celebrating? May 3, 2007

This Saturday is Cinco de Mayo… one of those holidays that people love celebrating but have no clue as to WHAT they are celebrating. That’s OK though, I am all for frivolous, spontaneous and excessive celebrations!
Actually, Cinco de Mayo commemorates the victory of Mexican forces over the French in the Battle of Puebla, 1862. Sounds like reason enough to imbibe Corona and Margaritas to me! (It also happens to be Saturday).
I am celebrating by going to Rudy’s Cafe in Teele Square, Somerville. As I have probably mentioned previously, Rudy’s makes the best margaritas in the Boston area. They might make the best margaritas in New England, but I haven’t tried enough to judge… yet. Give me a few more years.
How are you celebrating? Are you celebrating?
