Kegerators! October 31, 2007

It’s a sad day for me….but I have put my prized kegerators up for sale. Both are two-tap systems and one is a combo Nitrogen/CO2 system. You can see the Craigslist post here. If you mention that you found the ad through the trivia website, I’ll throw you a discount.

One of of the best ‘lawn-mower’ beers you can find… is back. I noticed Narragansett’s resurgence about 2 years ago and today I saw an article giving a bit of an explanation. I don’t know what the brand was purchased for but I’d like to find out.

I lost the score sheet from this past week…so if the 1st 2nd and 3rd place teams want to remind me of their team names I can update the all-time leader board.
Also, I apologize (as unapologetically as possible) for that lack of interesting posts this summer but, well, it’s summer and I’m busy doing fun things other than finding random shit on the internet. I would expect a ‘return to normalcy’ in late September.
On that note, I saw on Geekologie that a lamb was born with seven legs.
Pub Crawl for Freedom! June 27, 2007

When I was younger, it was always my dream to drink the Freedom Trail. Everyone walks it… but few have the patriotic courage to drink it. This year I took advantage of Google Maps to lay out the plan and dust it with history. This is the official Freedom Trail Pub Crawl Map.
Pub Crawl for Freedom, originally uploaded by Popehammer.
This pub crawl follows (as closely as possible) the 2.5 mile Freedom Trail in Boston. Every year I, along with a small group of friends, walk along the Freedom Trail in Boston stopping at a pub near each historical site. We reflect on the blood shed by our forefathers (and mothers) that allows us Americans to get completely tanked in broad daylight on a summer day. We remember the courage it took to ensure that we would not speak with English accents but instead, speak with accents of other, cooler, regions of the world. We are reminded particularly of the Constitutional right to pee on buildings when the line for the bathroom is too long. At least…I think that’s in the Constitution..I’ll have to check.
Ridiculous and outrageously patriotic outfits are encouraged.

These ads are for a program called the X Show… which I think is off the air. I don’t remember seeing them when they originally aired, but I wish I had. Basically it’s about some guys in everday situations that say whatever comes to mind… after you see the first one, you’ll understand what I’m talking about. My only question: why no mention of trivia??
Thanks to Mackie for the links.

I would NOT want to face these guys in a beruit competition. Watch the video, it’s ridiculous.
Thanks to Jim for the link…

For a beruit tournament with cash prizes. It also seems to be for a good cause. I am SO going to this.

Tomatos Rule! March 8, 2006

So the last round was somewhat difficult I admit, but it was doable. And I really love it when a team from the middle of the pack or last place is able to ace the final round and leap frog all the teams who either didn’t have the balls to wager 50 points on the final question or didn’t have the brains to answer it correctly. Of the two I would say the latter is far more respectable. The Nutty Tomatos put it all on the line and answered correctly which gave them 1st place! I was also happy because I recognize them as regulars and I like to see regulars win.
On a separate but important note, if you haven’t tried John Harvard’s Milk Stout, you are missing out! (No, they don’t pay me to say that).

It’s annoying isn’t it? Well then don’t let them get that way! Either calm down or don’t wear any. I suggest using both those options. I am working on getting some content in here so check back soon. Thanks.
